About Me

Hi! I’m Lainie.
I’m a wife to an amazing man and mother of 4 fur children- 3 insane cats and 1 long-haired Chihuahua with an attitude.

I’m from the sweet slow-talking state of Tennessee. I am in love with the South and doubt I could survive too long outside of it. But I love to travel. I have had the good fortune to be able to visit many great places. New places inspire me in all that I do!

I’m obsessed with history, all of it, because I think it is a part of all of us and shapes the world we live in. Not much makes me happier than being in a historic place and learning its secrets– connecting with the past.

Learning history has brought me to another passion: simple living. It seems to me that times were a lot less complicated before the technological age (and cheaper!). Now, technology is great, but I also think it’s a weakness. If we lost it, where would we be? Sitting in the dirt scrambling to get back to the basics. I want to learn a simpler lifestyle, not only so that I’m never left scratching my head in the dirt, but so I can better connect with the world around me.

I want to spend time with my loved ones, breathe clean air, live off the land and enjoy God’s green earth. That doesn’t mean I’m not a child of technology. I love shiny things. I wanna go natural and look pretty doing it!

I decided to turn my passion for furniture salvaging, crafting, and homesteading into something useful and create this blog! I want to show everyone just how easy it is to become a do-it-yourselfer in every sense of the word!
I truly appreciate you visiting my blog and get very excited with each new follower and comment.
